Advanced Camp

Squeaky Clean

FORT KNOX, Ky. – Advanced Camp 3rd Regiment Cadets prepare to graduate by returning all their equipment to the Central Issue Facility, July 3, at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

The CIF building is where Cadets go to receive and return their equipment that they sign for. They go through the same 10 stations that they did when they arrived at Cadet Summer Training.

Cadets received things that they didn’t think they would needed in the field and would wonder why they would need it.

“The Entrenching Tool (E-Tool) I’ve never used outside of Cadet Summer Training, but I needed it pretty much everyday when I was out in the field,” said Cadet Addyson Albershardt, University of North Georgia, Charlotte, North Carolina.

Most of the Universities the Cadets come from supply their Cadets with the basic items.

“I used the things that I withdrew from the CIF as a back up, so when I did turn them in they were just as I got them,” said Albershardt.

When the Cadets return their equipment they must clean their things to a certain standard and if it is not clean they must go to the garage and clean the object to standard and try again.

“We spend days cleaning our CIF gear to ensure it clean; its a lot more work turning everything in,” said Albershardt. “There are over five thousand Cadets coming to CST to train, so I know if I received something I would want something cleaned and not crotted and gross.”

After 31 days of training Advanced Camp 3rd Regiment Cadets cant wait to graduate. It is a big accomplishment for the Cadets to be almost done with their training years.

Cadet Summer Training will bring 8,200 Cadets through Basic and Advanced Camp this summer on Fort Knox. These camps are designed to help challenge, grow and improve various skills and leadership qualities within the Cadets.
